Spoco, I'm not so sure - my best comparison for this title is Garry's Mod for Half-Life 2, and look at what's been done with that. The community is still pretty strong after a lot of work has been done.
There's just something about playing with rudimentary physics-based gameplay in complementary, multiplayer ways, I guess.

I didn't find this "comedy" video the least bit funny. I downvoted it. This really shouldn't be such a big deal to anyone.
