Same Old - Samuel L. Jackson | Joe Biden For President 2020

newtboy says...

Shug-a-shug-a-shug-a-shug-a-shug-shug. That's precious....and 100% bullshit.
Felonious Boss Hogg directed his army of morons to vote by mail and in person...a felony.
He supports fake illegal collection boxes that allow republicans to discard ballots.
He instructed his morons to go armed to voting centers and intimidate people in line if they look like Biden supporters.

Part of the job of a president is to facilitate a free and open election and exude trust in the process his administration creates. He's failed at every single opportunity. It will be a train wreck, with Donald as the conductor staring spellbound into his mirror as he runs the train off the track.

Biden is ahead in almost every swing state by double digits, fool.

Republicans are the ones who have been caught repeatedly stealing ballots and changing them, showing up at polls to intimidate voters, illegally, trying to vote twice or more, setting up illegal fraudulent collection boxes, only allowing one real drop box for 4 million people, making up outrageous lies about vote by mail, which may have a better record than in person voting (mail in voting has a .0000004% fraud rate) and outright lying about some democratic frauds like his bullshit claim about ballots in a river, all Trump ballots....never happened, sorry sunshine. Trump has done nothing but cause mayhem, confusion, and distraction to hide this obvious fact that he can't win without massive voter fraud and supression.

Lol. Trump's base growing!?! Only according to trump and his morons who find the one unprofessional outlier internet poll by non pollsters and claim it's the only real poll. Derp.

Keep thinking that, November is going to be shocking. Get that suicide insurance, at least then you'll be doing something for your children besides causing them so much distress that they require institutionalization.

Sorry sunshine. 🤦‍♂️

Large scale election fraud is being pushed by democrats not by BOSS Trump. Trump just points it out. Just wait till the mess starts after the election. It will be a train wreck and every one know it.

MEGA Landslide 2020 and democrats are trying desperately to cheat to cause mayhem, confusion, distraction from this very fact.

Trumps base is growing and is larger that 2016. More from every demographic.

The best part of the VP debate

newtboy says...

Only to delusional cultists.
Polls consistently show people thought Harris "won" by at least 60%-40%....and she started ahead by every metric.

You have to go to unknown internet polls by hyper-biased right wing pollsters to find one that claims Pence did better than Harris.

Your predetermined uninformed opinion is irrelevant...and as usual dead wrong.

There is no elitist more smug and arrogant than Trump anywhere on the planet.

Buttigieg Shuts Down Loaded Fox Question

newtboy says...

Lol. So sad Bobby.
12000 total died vs >210000 and rising fast expected to top 400000 before Biden takes office, and Trump's new plan if he is successful with his coup is to raise that to 8 million dead or more.
Swine flu is the flu, not even a bad one by the numbers, Covid 19 is not. Covid kills 1 in 33 infected, swine flu killed 1 in 5000, and didn't put 20% in the hospital.
Obama put out science based guidelines and warnings quickly, trump continues to lie and claim Coronavirus is less deadly than the flu, nothing, go out and get it.

Trump ignored warnings, trump ignored pandemic specialists and fired them, trump cut travel from China eventually, but only of Chinese, no quarantine for the 40000+ non Chinese he let come in from China, trump ignored the pandemic response plan, and claimed for 5+ months there wasn't one, Trump stupidly blames the last administration for his total lack of preparedness, but he had been president for three+ years when he even noticed, but he takes NO responsibility, not a leader's actions. Trump let 210000+ Americans die according to him to avoid people getting worried, and continues to give horrifically wrong and deadly advice from the Whitehouse now to avoid admitting his total failure to lead.....what a plan.

It sure is looking like a landslide, with Biden ahead double digits in every poll besides a few pro Trump internet polls open only to Republicans by non pollsters. It's so bad Trump is calling on Barr to prosecute Biden now....the problem being he doesn't know for what, and worse, the Republican Senate report already cleared Biden of ANY crimes....and accused every Trump official of lying during his impeachment, including trump himself who they confirmed WAS helped by Russia...remember, that country that put bounties on American soldiers that Trump ignores to this day? Your homeland.
Moscow's Emissary Governing America...no thanks, we tried that, it cost us trillions, tripling the deficit this year, and hundreds of thousands of lives.

Red tsunami, take me away.

War On USPS

newtboy says...

Just absolutely wrong on every point except the post office....but consider instead of giving them the funding needed to address these problems, Trump has withheld funding for even normal operation and his appointees have already removed 10% of it's capacity, when they need to be expanding it to hold a fair and open election according to Whitehouse and CDC guidelines.
What happens when it takes 4 weeks to deliver ballots because of the intentional slowdowns and many aren't delivered before election day? Tens of millions are disenfranchised directly because of Trump's actions. A vote blocked is a vote STOLEN, so you are standing with a plan that cheats tens of millions out of their vote unequivocally in a stated plan to avoid hundreds of assumed fraudulent votes from being attempted (but likely caught so not cast).

Trump should want to fund it because holding a fair election is his duty, but he's never fulfilled a duty in his life.

Um...Covid absolutely 100% is a legitimate reason for vote by mail according to health agencies that determine such things (CDC, HHS) ..as if any reason is needed, it's the norm in many states.
Vote by mail is not an excuse for covid, that actually is BS....but I think you meant to be contradicting the former. It's a pure lie that it's more fraudulent than in person voting, another bold faced lie Trump told you.

You can't vote outside. Social distancing while voting is going to take the lines that were 5-6 hours long in places and make them twice that long. Thousands of polling places can't be staffed because most pollsters are elderly retired people, in the most effected group and totally not safe to work, (especially since it's a given that dozens of moronic denier Trumpsters are going to show up at every open polling place unmasked insisting it's their right to vote while spreading disease and forcing their way inside), so many are being closed. How do you think in person voting could possibly work given those facts?

If your ilk would mask up, we could do that, but you all have extended and exacerbated the pandemic so badly, and in their brainless worship of Trump still claim it's ALL a hoax, never even existed, and still won't wear masks because they block oxygen and suffocate people. Because of Trump's horrific leadership, in person voting is a no go for most without risking their, and other people's lives.

Your choice for president is failing at even holding an election...not surprising, he's failed at literally every job a president has, and our nation has suffered greatly, lost international status, tens of trillions, trade, respect, jobs, and over 160000 lives directly because of Trump's leadership....and every problem I listed is getting worse daily as he floundered.

What has he done successfully in your mind besides the tax cut he gave himself, doubling the deficit? Not the economy, not employment, not safety, not health, not trade, not deals, not strengthening ties with allies....so what?

bobknight33 said:

Absentee voting and vote by mail are different.

1 has check and balances and the other doesn't.

Vote by mail is not regulated and hence cheating can occur.

There has been a good few stories about the mess this occurs. Un counted, late mail.
What happens if not postmark by NOV3? Dems will scream count them. Thats wrong.

So why would Trump want this of fund the Democrat party for this method?

Vote by mail as a excuse for covid is BS.

People shop, protest, eat work in public.

Mask up and VOTE.

TYT - Republicans Were NOT Prepared For Town Hall Backlash

enoch says...

@robdot
trying to unpack your comment.

"spent the entire election cycle ranting about hillary"

what the holy fuck are you blathering about?

the entire election cycle liberals fell asleep at the wheel, and tacitly bought the bullshit pie that:paid political pundits, pollsters and supposed "informed political journalists" were selling.

hillary is going to win,the polls reveal that hillary will beat trump handily.don't worry liberal democrats, hillary is going to win.do not pay attention to hillary's abysmal numbers, because trumps are just as horrid.

and just WHAT was hillary's platform?
what was her political messaging and vision for america's future?

"well,my fellow americans,at least i am not THAT guy".
that was it,that pathetic, weak and facile position,WAS her campaign!

if this is what you are referencing, then yes..i agree..the democrats fucking dropped the ball.they had no message,no platform,no vision.

the democrats lost a massively energized younger population when they openly, and brazenly, fucked over sanders, because sanders threatened the DNC and the democrats corporate money train, and we can't have a politician who has shown integrity, morals and vision now can we?

hillary on the other hand, had already proven to be a willing participant in the corporate train.you know..speak one way to the people, but another way behind closed doors..wink-wink-nudge nudge-know-what-i-mean.

if this is what you are talking about, then yes,i agree, liberal democrats need to take a big, giant bite out of that shit sandwich and stop behaving like they are fucking victims.

Aftermath November 2016

enoch says...

@Stormsinger

i can agree with the intent of your comment but i think it ignores a far greater, and possibly more dangerous facet of this current election cycle.

look,
when the DNC began it's political play to nudge sanders out,and was changing the rules of application to keep laurence lessig off the ballot.it became obvious (to me anyways) that clinton was tagged for the run,and the DNC was attempting to steal sanders thunder, which was shockingly impressive, and redirect it to boost clinton.

but the DNC had failed to successfully execute this plan because they didn't understand the true nature of those sanders supporters.so their plan backfired.

the RNC did almost the EXACT same thing with trump.they hated the man, wanted nothing to do with him,but they saw how powerful his campaign was picking up steam and they attempted to play the long con.for a year they allowed trump to do and say whatever he wanted, with little rebuttal or regard.they watched as trump got bigger, and bolder, and more brash.they watched his numbers climb consistently..and they waited.and after a year, they attempted to step in and steal trumps thunder by offering a more "reasonable" candidate.

ok ok...enough with the trump.
you want cruz?...nope.
how about ben carson? he is a sweet guy and BLACK....nope.
marco rubio?he is spanish with immigrant parents...nope
john kasich?...nope

because the RNC didn't get it either.they too, attempted to steal trumps thunder and their plan backfired.

liberals didnt get it.
conservatives didnt get it.
corporate media didnt get it.
political pundits, who get PAID to get it,didnt get it.
pollsters didnt get it.
suzy mcprettyface who reads the teleprompter didnt get it.

but the americans who lived in those dead midwestern towns got it.they may not understand neoliberalism, but they could see the effects by the boarded up stores, closed banks and the only jobs to have were the night shift at the one fast food joint left in the entire town.

these are the very same people who may not fully comprehend what the bank bailouts meant,or how austerity affected them, but they understood that the biggest industry in their town was no longer coal,or steel,or fishing but production of meth.they saw small shops close and crumble under the weight of a walmart superstore, and chains of pill mills.

they watched as construction jobs dried up,and private prisons expanded.there are some towns in texas and florida that literally survive on the incarceration of other americans.so they may not have fully understood that the "war on drugs" is actually a war on people, but they certainly could see the after-effects.

and these people were being told..everyday..that the economy was doing great.
that unemployment was at an all time low.
that the american dream was still attainable.
and at the very same time they were also being told that if you were on food stamps you were a loser, and a leech.
that if you lost your home it was YOUR fault.
that if you couldnt find a job you were lazy.
and if you DID happen to find a job,but it paid minimum, well then you should have gone to college or made better choices.

and since when did it become a virtue to exploit the hopeless and the desperate? to take advantage of someones misfortune and pay them pennies to do a job,but god forbid someone actually demands what they feel they are worth, because then you are accused of being a rip off artist!

when did THIS tactic become and american ideology?

and that really is the core nugget of this tale.
the ideology of america.
the amercian dream.
it was dead, and those people finally got it.
and there is NOTHING more fanatical or zealous than a defeated idealist.

so you can judge them for voting trump, but i think we should also understand WHY they voted for trump.

chris hedges wrote a truthdig piece that is far more eloquent and illuminating than anything i could ever put to paper.

Who do you blame for the election results? (User Poll by newtboy)

enoch says...

blame?

i don't know if i would use such a charged word to describe a very and nuanced question.i think there is plenty of blame to go around, and it is never quite as simple as the media soundbytes we are all subjected to on a daily basis.

who do i blame most?
democrats..hands down.

but there are other factors that all served to produce this circus of an election cycle.

1.the failure of the left to actually understand just how frustrated and angry the working class had become.those people may be politically unsophisticated, but they are not dumb.

this really had very little to do with republican vs democrat.this was a large portion of the american population that had simply become fed up with a system that they finally understood had thrown them overboard decades ago.many of the people who voted for trump also voted for obama..TWICE..because they wanted to see "change" and what they got nothing, zip, zilch, zero, nada.

they simply refused to play charlie brown to the democrats lucy.

2.the DNC and debbie wasserman shultz, may she burn in hell for eternity.
this woman singlehandedly secured the nomination for clinton, while blocking a sanders nomination.

remember laurence lessig?
well, don't feel bad if you don't,because wasserman and the DNC kept changing the rules of application so lessig couldn't even get on the primary ballot.

the DNC basically said to the sanders supporters "sanders? fuck you! you get hillary and will like it".

3.the ultra left liberals, for being so sensitive and touchy (don't get mad,you guys are way too soft skinned) that they restrict their interactions in these weird, singular echo chambers.where everybody is agreeing with each other and nobody is challenging anything,no critical examination.

so when trump won.
they damn near lost their minds in shock!
because anybody who may have shed some actual light on the situation was already blocked or on ignore.

4.the republican party, who hated trump but allowed him to fan the flames of dissent with his bombastic speeches, emotionally charged rhetoric and divisive language.

they let this go on for almost a year, and while publicly denounced trump, privately sought a way to capture his thunder.

want carson?.....nope
cruz?...nope.
kasich?..nope.

because just like the left, they too,had misjudged just how pissed off people were in regards to our political system, and their plan backfired.

5.the democratic party for allowing such a shit candidate, and just like the republicans, not fully understanding just how pissed the electorate was.

6.the corporate media, who sought solely to profit from the election by giving us all this mish mash of reality tv,wrestling and days of our lives.they didnt report the issues, they fed the drama.

and every political pundit, every pollster, every opinion news mrs mcprettyface, got it FUCKING WRONG.

7.bernie bros who stayed home in protest, but this entire election was a protest vote.

so,
yeah..a lot of mitigating factors went into trumps win.

i didn't think he was going to win but i knew it was going to close, but i sure as fuck was not surprised.i was actually laughing at loud.

would you look at that...
my fellow countrymen just hit the nuclear option.
i didn't want a trump victory..no sir..but i have to admire the audacity of my fellow citizens to hit that shiny red button.

fuck you washington!

we live in interesting times my friends.
interesting and terrifying times.

and really...what would clinton have given us?
more of the same?
more wars and regime change?
more tax breaks for the super rich while children starve and more people become homeless?

i may find my fellow americans choice horrifying, but i have to respect it.
either way kids...something is gonna change.

Coulter predicts Trump's rise to much laughter

ChaosEngine says...

I admit I haven't put a lot of time into it, but a quick google shows Clinton winning pretty comfortably in almost every poll.

newtboy said:

I'm not sure which polls you mean. Many I've seen have had Trump and Clinton statistically tied at best, and Trump winning in some. True enough, polls have been TERRIBLE at prediction this election cycle, bad enough that by international standards, we are up to 16 times the standard allowable deviation (the difference between exit polls and results should never be >2%), which in any other country would 'prove' election fraud (both by U.S. standards and by U.N. standards), but for some reason we are completely ignoring those long standing standards in the US in this election and certifying the results anyway?!?
Now IF Bernie wins the nomination, you'll be right.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Donald Trump

RedSky says...

There's polling that Trump would be neck and neck with Clinton but I think that's baloney and in the general he will get slaughtered since his support base right now is a fairly curated group of the Republican base and in the general he will face tougher questions from the left. The pollsters like Rove already know this and there is some ideas being floated around that the GOP itself may campaign on "vote for a Congress to contain Hilary" rather than even backing Trump.

A big loss would almost certainly trigger some kind of GOP rethink. After McCain's loss the outcome seems to have been to restructure to become more radical and purist, with the Tea Party rise. Since Trump is close enough to a Tea Party candidate the hope is that after a big loss, the Republican party restructures, throws off its extremism and moves towards the center. I think this is inevitable as US youth is highly liberal and minority demographics will eventually determine elections but it may still be some years, maybe a decade before that begins to really matter.

Sagemind says...

*Promote because what he says is so logical and obvious even though no one (of consequence) will listen to what he is saying and the polling will continue...

I fill out polls all the time and I am always amazed at how the questions can always be set up so that I can't say anything bad about the company and the things I want to say and every question leads to a vote in favor of what the pollsters want to promote. I always want to pick the option that is absent from the available list of choices.

>> ^ghark:

The irony is that TYT (and the pollsters) seems to be misinformed, while some of the protesters may have similar principles to what the Democrats like to say they stand for (and hence a carefully worded question may elicit the response they wanted), journalists from the OWS movement recognize that "The electoral system is a corrupt mirage where only corporate-approved candidates are allowed to be considered seriously" and that "Obama and the Democrats are part of the problem, not the solution".

Have a look at the sites for many of the occupy movements, most distance themselves from any party affiliation - that's kind of the entire point of the whole protest movement, people are getting raped left, right and center by both parties.

You're absolutely correct, the OWS Movement doesn't align itself with the Democratic Party--that's one of the reasons I love them--that's also one of the reasons Cenk loves them.

I didn't get what you were saying, so I watched the video again--now I see. Cenk is reporting on the poll questions here, not his own. I admit he should have done a better job of showing that the pollster's question was screwy.

Cenk has been outspoken in the past about who the OWS Movement are and what they are about. This video has some good stuff about the difference between mainstream Dem's and OWS.
